Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, has announced that it will be showcasing 10 Nigerian Startups at this year's GITEX technology exhibition and conference that will take place in Dubai for the 8th to 12th of October.

This information was made known in a statement issued by the Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Isah Ibrahim Pantami.

According to Pantami, this year’s tech ambassadors were meticulously picked after a highly competitive process anchored by the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship, an arm of the NITDA.

The startups Nicademia, SIX, Tattara, Accounteer, Beat Drone, Cloudoria, Dropque, MyPadi, Ward Monitor and MTK e-Learning  would join their peers from over 60 countries at the second edition of the Gitex Start-ups Global Movement.

The Director General further revealed that the programme was inaugurated in the 2016 edition of Gitex as a global rallying ground for funding start-ups and exposing innovators to mentors and venture capitalists.

GITEX is the premier annual technology event in the Middle East, Asia and Africa hosting over 185,000 visitors from more than 140 countries.

Pantami said Nigeria would be promoting three thematic activities for its  participation this year on IT investment and exposure.

He also revealed that NITDA remained committed to its mandate to build a technology ecosystem that would thrive on indigenous manpower connected to the global IT community, adding that young people were a critical focus of NITDA’s agenda to develop the IT sector.

The NITDA boss said, “Our young people are highly talented. With more training, exposure, funding and mentorship, a thriving IT industry can be encouraged to grow within international standards so that we can not only meet our local needs but also become an IT exporting nation.”

Cable and digital television is not a new thing in Nigeria. In fact, cable TV has been existing for little over two decades now.

But in all those previous years, at least a decade, up until now, their has been no true satisfaction as, subscription rates are surging higher and you still get charged regardless, whether or not you use the subscription. TStv, a pay-as-you-use cable TV, is here to change all that.

In this post, you will find out the price for the TStv decoder, TStv decoder features, where to buy TStv decoders, TStv subscription packages and fees, as well as the full channel listing on TStv and more.

What is TStv

TELCOM Satellite television, TStv, is a Direct-to-Home (DTH) Cable TV provider in Nigeria, that will commence operations in Nigeria from October 1st, 2017 which happens to be Nigeria's independence day.

According to the owner of TStv, Bright Echefu, TStv will be distributed on ABS-3 Satellite which is located at a prime video neighborhood of 30W with little interference. TStv was birthed by a partnership between ABS, an European based television and Telecom satellite.

Unlike DStv and Gotv, TStv will be the first cable TV in Nigeria to offer pay-as-you-use. With this, TStv subscribers can only pay for what they consume. So, if you'r low on budget and you feel like just subscribing to watch football for the weekend, you have the power to do so now with TStv. Also as a TStv user, you will be able to 'pause' your subscriptions for up to seven days in a month.

So, please follow me through this post as I breakdown the benefits of TStv decoder, how much the TStv decoder will cost, TStv subscription packages & fees, TStv full channel list and TStv decoder features.

Benefits of TStv

TStv comes with a number of benefits that distinguishes it from other cable TV operators currently available in Nigeria, and a few that are similar.

The highlight of TStv is that it comes with a feature called pay-as-you-use. As mentioned above, TStv subscribers can opt to pay for just what they consume. As a TStv subscriber, you will also be able to 'pause'  your subscription for a duration of seven days every month. This will be the first from any Nigerian cable TV provider.

TStv provides users with up to 20GB of data every month, that can be used over Wi-Fi for internet connectivity. With this data, TStv users can browse the internet and gain access to websites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. You will also be able to top up the data when it gets exhausted before the stipulated date and time.

TStv comes with over 13 sports channels, some of which will broadcast live football matches from the top leagues across the world including English Premier League, Spanish Primera League (LaLiga), German Bundesliga, Italian Seria A, French League 1 and so on.

This is quite cool because you wouldn't have to pay huge amount of money to watch football matches live, especially the widely watched English Premier league.

[Video] Hey guys, here are the 8 things to love about the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

iPhone 8 and 8 plus features

Apple had just recently released the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and I made an in-depth post on the new devices here and here.

But that is not the gist. The new iPhones are now available for purchase and Apple has released a new video to make you realize what you are missing if you don't purchase any of its new iPhones.

The new video, in a bid to market the new phones, reveals the '8' things to love about the iPhone '8'. The quick and concise video highlights what Apple feels is the main selling points of the duo.

But if you can't watch the 47 secs video, these are the 8 things Apple says you will be missing out on. The iPhone 8, according to Apple, is special because it has the most durable glass ever in a smartphone, the new Portrait Lighting mode for pictures, wireless charging, the most powerful and smartest chip, a better camera, water resistance, a new Retina HD display (although the only new thing here is the True Tone support), and augmented reality functionality. 8 standout attributes for the iPhone 8 as described by Apple.
